I offer individual coaching, private writing instruction, and structural and developmental editing for writers at all stages.  

What I do best: helping writers get unstuck or overcome hurdles, making sense and art out of messes and chaos, and pointing great work toward the right publishers and publications.

In addition to my own creative writing and published works, my background includes executive-level brand strategy, communications, and content development. On the literary side, I have helped judge writing contests, select essays for publication in Ploughshares and facilitate numerous writing workshops and critique groups.

I’m a big-picture, abstract thinker so I help clients figure out what they want to say, and then we work together on tactics and strategies. No piece is too short or too long and I read quickly and keep the energy high so that you can get the tools you need to stay focused and keep going. Sometimes this involves nothing more than a phone call or a brainstorming session. Sometimes this means a detailed edit or collaborative restructuring of a draft. We can work on an hourly or project basis.
